Care & Maintenance
Irish weather can be tough on garden equipment. A few simple checks will keep your Akrobat safe and bouncing for years.
Wind and storms
- Anchor above-ground trampolines with a ground anchor kit, especially in exposed coastal and western areas.
- When a storm or high wind warning is issued, remove the safety net or take it down, and consider moving the trampoline to a sheltered spot.
- In-ground trampolines are far less affected by wind — one of the reasons they suit Irish gardens so well.
Rain and damp
- Galvanised steel resists rust, but don't let water pool under the trampoline — keep the ground beneath well drained.
- For in-ground models, make sure the pit has good drainage before installation.
- Brush standing water and leaves off the jumping mat and let it dry before use.
Autumn and winter
- Use a weather cover over the jumping bed and pads during the off-season.
- Clear fallen leaves regularly, as they hold moisture against the mat.
- Don't jump on a frosty or icy mat. Remove heavy snow to avoid stretching the springs.
Spring check-up
- Check every spring for stretching, rust or damage and replace any that are worn.
- Inspect frame pads — they should fully cover springs and frame. Replace pads that are torn or faded.
- Inspect the net and poles for tears, loose fixings or wear.
- Check bolts and frame joints and tighten where needed.
Every time you jump
- One jumper at a time is safest. Always supervise children.
- Remove shoes, jewellery and sharp objects.
- Close the net entrance before jumping.
